Release Notes:

Almost two years since our last in-person assembly, the Imbued Vagary Live Infiltration Unit consisting of Imbued Vagary Collective members mC2p4, Thee Sub One Genius, and Ttam Troll convened at Floating Fish Studios for a 09/11/21 livestream event on Nick’s International Virtual Garage.

This hour long journey into the electronic plasma pool is full of sonic explorations which seamlessly melds from one soundscape into another.

Come with us.  Dip your toes (and ears) in the electronic plasma pool but be careful.  It may not be so easy to escape the swirling vortex of aural experiments.

Imbued Vagary - TR-1 (Live at FFS II 11/02/19)

Floating Fish Studios held Synth Jam 2019 - Time Travel at FFS II on 11/02/19. The ensemble gathered included core Imbued Vagary personnel M Scott McConnell (aka MC2P4) and Matt Norcross (aka Ttam Troll).

An Akai Tom Cat provides a noisy analog Ttam Troll programmed beat while MC2P4 delivers sonic structure for the improv on his Korg Z1.  Ttam Troll then slinks in and out of the mix layering synth pads from a Korg DW-8000, bell tones on an Oberheim Matrix-6, and distorted soloing from a Roland GAIA SH-01 (an instrument he says he hates).

This live improv is titled, TR-1.

Floating Fish Studios held Synth Jam 2016 - Birthday at FFS II on 07/30/16. The ensemble gathered included Steve Saputelli (aka Steve O Man), Paul Polidoro (aka Paul Doppelganga), Dave Chandler (aka Thee Sub One Genius), Mary Shuman (aka Mary, Mary), M Scott McConnell (aka MC2P4), and Matt Norcross (aka Ttam Troll).

Paul Polidoro on the “Wheels of Steel” again shows off his turntable prowess during this improv while Thee Sub One Genius assembles a Beat Architecture landscape. Ttam Troll pulses a Prodigy synth bass line as Mary, Mary sprinkles samples throughout.

This live improv is titled, Diseased.

The ensemble gathered included Steve Saputelli (aka Steve O Man), Paul Polidoro (aka Paul Doppelganga), Dave Chandler (aka Thee Sub One Genius), Mary Shuman (aka Mary, Mary), M Scott McConnell (aka MC2P4), and Matt Norcross (aka Ttam Troll).

This live improv is noisy and fun and is titled, Super Mega Death Ray.

Ttam Troll’s icy Minimoog synth bass dominates the aural landscape as Thee Sub One Genius layers a dense Ableton Live rhythmic groove and MC2P4 cuts through both with a slithering Z1 solo.

Storm Clouds

Floating Fish Studios held Synth Jam 2015 - Snow at FFS II on 02/21/15. The ensemble gathered included Dave Chandler (aka Thee Sub One Genius), M Scott McConnell (aka MC2P4), and Matt Norcross (aka Ttam Troll).

The snow storm could not deter the three core members of Imbued Vagary from creating icy electronic music.  The six sonic explorations ranged from ambient soundscapes to Noise.

This live improv is more akin to ambient soundscapes and is titled, Storm Clouds.

FFS Synth Jam Turns 5

Today marks the 5 year anniversary of the original new era FFS Synth Jam.  The fruits of which are still being enjoyed today.  From these sessions, the latest incarnation of Imbued Vagary was born.  To celebrate this, we have a series of CD releases coming out this year.  The first, titled Captured Moments, is being mastered now and will be available soon.
